This page reveals an optional post-demo unlock condition, but does not identify the challenge opponent.
Make the counter do the proving.
- Play the expanded demo on one save. Use the current build that includes the Oni Refuge and Daidara.
- Raise the visible Issen counter to 10. A Parry or Deflect animation by itself is not enough; look for the demo to register each Issen.
- Finish the expanded demo after the counter reaches 10. Reports disagree about whether tracking begins before the final encounter or during Daidara, so the counter—not a named fight—is the safe checkpoint.
- Look for Special Challenge. The new option should appear after the condition and completion state are both recognized.
No counter or unlock?
- Confirm the demo has the 25 August expansion and is fully updated.
- Try registered Issen during the Daidara portion if earlier encounters do not expose or advance the counter; this is a community workaround, not an official rule.
- If the save had already completed the demo before the attempt, try a fresh current-build run and reach 10 before finishing again.
- Do not assume Break Issen, ordinary Parry or Deflect automatically counts; trust the on-screen registration.
Multiple player reports converge on the ten-Issen counter and unlock, but disagree on the tracking window. Treat the threshold as the usable finding and the exact encounter sequence as unresolved.
Fastest safe practice loop
Use a readable attack, remove visual clutter and focus on the contact cue rather than your own sword. If the attempt keeps becoming Parry, move the attack timing closer to contact instead of mashing. The combat page separates the actions; the Daidara guide covers the expanded-demo boss loop.
